Vintage Base Ball on the Battlefield: A Unique Sporting Event at Shiloh

Get ready to step back in time! On Sunday, July 20, Shiloh National Military Park will host an exciting double-header of vintage base ball, presented by the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball.

The action kicks off at 12:00 p.m. as the Nashville Maroons take on the Franklin Farriers. Following this thrilling match, the Farriers will return to the field at 2:00 p.m. to face the Phoenix of East Nashville. These teams will don authentic period uniforms and adhere to the rules and regulations established in 1863, the same time the Civil War raged across the nation.

The impact of the Civil War extended beyond the battlefield, playing a crucial role in the spread of America’s beloved pastime. Attendees can expect to witness the charm and camaraderie of base ball as it was played 160 years ago.

The best part? Admission is free! Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets to enjoy a leisurely day of historical sportsmanship.

Don’t miss a day of competitive vintage base ball and experience a piece of history in the heart of Shiloh!
