The ceremonial ringing of the Liberty Bell\, followed by the Boston Tea Party reenactment\, is always a guest favorite. Discovery Park’s replica bell is rung only once a year\, making this a unique and memorable occasion. \nThe bell is rung at 2 p.m. 13 times nationwide as part of the “Let Freedom Ring” Bell Ringing Ceremony. It pays tribute to the 13 founding states symbolized by the signers of the Declaration of Independence. This tradition is the sole Independence Day observance mandated by the federal government.

The ceremony is free for members and $5 for non-members. \nThe “Let It Glow” Drive-thru and Walk-thru will be open 5-9 PM daily from Nov. 15-Dec. 30\, 2024 (closed on Thanksgiving\, Christmas Eve\, and Christmas Day). Walk-Thru tickets are $5 per person (kids 3 and under are free)\, and Drive-Thru tickets are $10 per car or $50 per bus (11+ passengers).

SUMMARY:2024 Northwest Tennessee Native American Educational Powwow
DESCRIPTION:Our heritage park and museum will be the location of a four-day Native American Powwow to be held Thursday\, Sept. 19 – Sunday\, Sept. 22\, 2024. The goal of this event is to provide a place for Indigenous people from tribes around the country to celebrate their culture while educating Discovery Park visitors on this aspect of our nation’s past\, present and future. \nThe 2024 Northwest Tennessee Native American Educational Powwow will include competitions and displays of indigenous storytelling\, drumming\, singing and competition dancing. There will also be Native American artisans\, craftsmen and traders displaying and selling their work. Food vendors will provide opportunities to enjoy traditional cuisines like fry bread\, tacos and hominy. Olivia Faye will be returning to the Total Tech Solutions Stage after recently being recognized as one of Nashville’s best-up-and-coming talented artists. \nPerforming at Rhythm on the Rails for the first time ever\, The Dryes is sure to kick-off the summer concert series in a big way. This married duo was on team Blake on season 22 of “The Voice” and was named a “promising new country duo” by the “Today Show.” \nEach Friday night will feature a “themed” menu. Opening night’s cuisine is Mexican food serving up specialty nachos. Hamburgers\, hot dogs and other snacks will be available nightly. Pair your food with a margarita or any delicious drink from the cash bar. \nFamilies are encouraged to bring their own blankets\, chairs and  fishing gear.
