Jackson, TN (November 4, 2024) – Our Jackson Home, in collaboration with the City of Jackson, is excited to announce a vibrant sidewalk art project in Downtown Jackson, starting November 11th to November 22nd.
Courtney Searcy, the selected artist, noted that the design will feature imagery that highlights the makers and farmers who play a vital role in our community, making events like Saturday at the Farmers Market a cornerstone of life in Downtown Jackson.
This project is to reflect the beauty of all four seasons – spring, summer, winter and fall. The artwork will be installed at two corners of West Lafayette Street, directly in front of theLOCAL and Grace Media Group. This public art instillation aims to beautify the Art District, encourage walkability, foster community participation in public art, support local talent and enhance Jackson’s cultural identity.
To bring this exciting sidewalk art to life, Our Jackson Home is inviting community volunteers to assist with the installation process. Volunteer aged 13 and over are welcome to join in creating this colorful public art display.
