Love Your Block – Jackson, TN, announced the winners of the 2023 Neighborhood Improvement Grant that was launched last month.

This grant opportunity empowers residents and community groups to lead projects that enhance the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

The grant will support projects aimed at:

• Activating underutilized spaces
• Creating community meeting and recreation spaces
• Beautifying residential or commercial areas with public art
• Strengthening neighborhood relationships
• Celebrating culture and heritage
• Encouraging volunteerism and community engagement

“We are incredibly excited to see these projects come to life in our city. The active engagement from our residents throughout this process has been truly inspiring. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took the time to vote and support these initiatives,” said Abby Palmer, City of Jackson, TN Neighborhood Services Director. “We’re immensely proud of all the organizations that applied, and we eagerly anticipate the positive impact these winning projects will bring to our community.”

PROJECT WINNERS  

• Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency – JACOA Mural: A mural that tells our story.
• Keep My Hood Good Community Campaign Mural and Memorial Garden: Transforming spaces with beauty and purpose.
• The Children’s Theater Company Kids With a Cause Camp: Inspiring our young talents.
• Imagination Library Madison County TN Dolly Day: A celebration of literacy and imagination.
• Downtown Jackson TN & LIFT Wellness Center Free Yoga Classes: Promoting wellness and unity.

Because our winners didn’t claim the total grant amount, we were able to recognize a few additional community-driven projects that have an incredible community impact.

• T & T Dynamite Soul Food Chili Connections: Connecting neighbors through delicious food.
• Don’t Waste My Time Music‘s Winter Music Festival: A harmony of music and art for all to enjoy.
• Hub City Blueprint Mural: Adding vibrant art to our community.
