Utah’s own Lauren Salimbene was crowned Miss Volunteer America 2026 on Friday night, rising above a competitive field of 51 young women from across the nation. The pageant consisted of three categories, talent, fitness and wellness, and evening gown, each highlighting the grace, dedication, and individuality of the contestants.
At just 19 years old, Salimbene is a sophomore at Westminster University in Salt Lake City, Utah. With poise beyond her years and a passion for performance, she captivated the judges and audience alike to earn this year’s national title.
Salimbene began her pageant journey in the teen category and has competed in four competitions, including Miss Volunteer America. After earning her first Miss title as Miss Utah Volunteer, winning the national crown was especially meaningful to her. A lifelong dancer, she noted that while she has always been aware of her physical strength, it was through pageantry that she discovered the depth of her mental resilience and personal growth.
In addition to the crown and title, Salimbene takes home a $50,000 scholarship to further her education.
Miss Volunteer America is known not just for its emphasis on scholarship and service, but for empowering young women to discover their strengths, something Salimbene exemplified every step of the way.
