Hub City Theatre Company is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of Neil Simon’s beloved comedy, Barefoot in the Park. The show will run from January 17th to 26th at Turntable Coffee Counter in Jackson, TN.

Written by the legendary playwright Neil Simon, Barefoot in the Park tells the heartwarming and hilarious story of newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter as they navigate the ups and downs of married life in a tiny, quirky apartment in New York City. Their contrasting personalities—Paul, a straight-laced lawyer, and Corie, an adventurous and free-spirited woman—create a series of comedic situations that highlight the challenges and joys of love, relationships, and compromise. With unforgettable characters, witty dialogue, and timeless humor, the play has captivated audiences since its Broadway debut in 1963.

Director Crista Beals says, “Barefoot in the Park has been making audiences laugh for decades and has been on my directing bucket list since I first wrote one up. The chemistry between the characters and the sharp wit of the script make this show delightful for both seasoned theatergoers and first-time audiences, and the intimate space of Turntable Coffee Counter will make you feel like you are present in this tiny apartment with our favorite newlyweds! The party is an opportunity for guests to enjoy provided heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages right before the cast completes their final dress rehearsal, so stay and get the first glimpse of the show! Alcoholic beverages will be present and available for guests age 21 years and older only.
