SUMMARY:Night Sky Observation
DESCRIPTION:Registration is required. $5 per person. The early spring is a great time of year to view many types of celestial objects. Star clusters containing thousands to sometimes millions of stars glitter like cosmic jewel boxes\, large clouds of gas and dust that pervade our Milky Way glow as stars form within\, and we even get the opportunity to look past our own galaxy to spy some of its bright galactic neighbors. Join astronomer and Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory director Dr. Billy Teets for a discussion about these objects and more as we virtually tour the spring sky. If clear skies abound\, attendees will also have a chance to possibly view the Moon\, Jupiter\, and some of the deep-sky objects highlighted in the talk through a telescope.
