SUMMARY:Jackson Choral Society Spring Concert: "Light!"
DESCRIPTION:The Jackson Choral Society\, under the direction of Zach Young\, will be joined by members of the Jackson State Community College Innovation ensemble\, directed Esther Gray. The 80+ member combined choir will be accompanied by a string orchestra. The program will consist of several shorter pieces around the theme of “Light!\,” followed by the the Mid-South premier of Illuminare\, a recently-composed multi-movement choral work by Elaine Hagenberg. The piece takes us through a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion. But as Light gradually returns\, hope is restored\, illuminating our future and guiding us in peace. \nThe concert will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday\, April 20 at 3:00 pm.
