Twenty-nine additional home games will follow Opening Night. After the conclusion of the 1st half on July 1st\, there will be a first-half champion determined from each of the four divisions. A second-half champion will be determined at the regular season final games on August 5th. The post-season playoffs begin\, first with each divisional champion\, then an Eastern & Western Conference champion\, then a best-of-three Prospect League Championship series. SUMMARY:First Friday Art Walk
DESCRIPTION:From March through November 2023\, the Jackson Arts Council will organize ‘First Friday Art Walk’ events in Downtown\, Jackson. These monthly events will take place on the first Friday of the month from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in local businesses all within walking distance of one another in Downtown Jackson’s newly designated Arts District.  The public will now have regular monthly opportunities to shop for local art directly from local artists. Artists will popup inside of the storefronts of local businesses to sell their work. The purpose of these events is to increase opportunities for the public to engage with the arts\, increase opportunities for local artists to sell their work\, increase arts opportunities within the Arts District\, and increase walkability and economic activity in Downtown\, Jackson.  Artists and fine crafters of all backgrounds and skill levels who are interested in selling their work at these events must be Artist Members of the Jackson Arts Council. SUMMARY:Booming on the Battlefield
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, August 5\, and Sunday\, August 6\, the roar of cannon will return to Shiloh National Military Park. The scheduled firing demonstrations will be presented by the Shiloh cannon crew\, firing a 6-pounder field piece. Please meet for the program across the street from the park visitor center. Park living historians will fire the gun\, introduce the equipment and tools of the 19th century cannoneers\, and tell the story of how these powerful guns impacted the outcome of battle at Shiloh. The park hopes this special experience will help you imagine the smell and sounds of the 1862 battlefield. The cannon firing demonstrations will take place at 10:00 am\, 11:30 am\, 1:30 pm\, and 3:00 pm on Saturday and at 11:00 am\, 1:00 pm\, and 2:30 pm on Sunday. Each program will last approximately 20-minutes\, and interpret the weapons\, projectiles\, and procedures Civil War artillery crews used during the war. The award-winning park film\, ‘Shiloh: Fiery Trial’\, is being shown in the park visitor center auditorium at the top of the hour starting at 8:00 am with the last showing at 4:00 pm. There is never a fee for park programs or to enter Shiloh National Military Park.
