DESCRIPTION:Hardin County to celebrate July 4 with a Banging Blowout! \nHardin County will celebrate the Fourth of July with a stunning fireworks display\, beginning at 9 p.m. on THURSDAY\, July 4. Fireworks will be shot from the Pickwick Landing State Park Sandy Beach. In addition to the annual fireworks show\, Hardin County Convention and Visitors Bureau will be broadcasting live with WKWX beginning at 7 p.m. with patriotic music and special guests’ interviews. \nIn addition to the 9pm show\, the Friends of Pickwick Landing State Park will be hosting all day fun around the Lodge and circle beach area. Food and craft vendors will be set up as well as ranger-led activities. \nInside the park\, spectators may enjoy views from around the Lodge area\, Circle Beach\, from the golf course hillside bank\, the playground and shelter one hillside bank areas. The Circle will be closed to inbound traffic beginning at 6pm. Sandy Beach will be closed ALL DAY to ALL spectators. This bell is rung only once a year\, making this a unique and memorable occasion. \nThe bell is rung at 2 p.m. 13 times nationwide as part of the “Let Freedom Ring” Bell Ringing Ceremony. It pays tribute to the 13 founding states symbolized by the signers of the Declaration of Independence. This tradition is the sole Independence Day observance mandated by the federal government. \n2:15 p.m.   |   Covered Bridge by Liberty Hall \nBoston Tea Party Reenactment located at Covered Bridge by Liberty Hall \nWitness a reenactment of the Boston Tea Party\, the pivotal act of defiance that significantly influenced American history. \n2:30-5 p.m.   |   Liberty Hall Tent \nHistorical Interpreter Jeff Talley  \nTalley\, dressed in period clothing\, will discuss mid-1700s printing and bookbinding. \nAll Day (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) \n\nScavenger Hunt – There’s a spy in our midst. Follow the clues to aid The Revolution. Redeem your completed Scavenger Hunt for a free ice cream.
