SUMMARY:Stargazing at Pinson Mounds
DESCRIPTION:Join the Rangers of Pinson Mounds to learn about stargazing practices during the Woodland period and how it helped to shape the construction of the Pinson Mound Complex. \nAfter a brief presentation by the Rangers\, we will take time to relax under the stars! \nYou will need to bring: \n-A picnic blanket or lawn chair \n-Weather appropriate clothing ( It may be cold! ) \n-A bottle of water or warm drink- \nA red light flashlight ( White light can interfere with the night sky viewing experience) \n-A positive attitude! \nParticipation in this program comes with some perks! Hot chocolate will be available during the program! \nRegistration for this program is required. This is a Fee based program at $5 per attendee. Please Check in with the Ranger stationed at the entrance when you arrive. Tickets must be purchased through either the park office at 731-988-5614 or on the official Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park website. No third-party tickets will be honored.

DESCRIPTION:Take a hike with the Pinson Mounds Rangers! We will be hiking from the museum down to the boardwalk and learning about the beautiful fall colors that take over our park each fall. This hike is great for the whole family! Dogs are welcome! We will be meeting outside the Park Museum. \nThis hike is approximately 1.5 miles one way on a mostly flat paved trail. \nOur Rangers recommend you bring: \n-Closed toe shoes \n-Water \n-Weather appropriate clothing-Dog Leash (No dogs without a leash will be permitted on this hike) \nOptional:  Camera\, Apps Like INaturalist or Merlin\, Leaf Press Books\, Hiking Stick \nPlease register for this program ahead of time to save your spot!
