SUMMARY:A Thing of Beauty
DESCRIPTION:“A Thing of Beauty” is a powerful drama inspired by a few pivotal days in the life of Edith Stein\, told through the character of Sarah Weiss\, also known as Sister Fransisca. Set within the receiving room of a convent\, the play explores faith\, identity\, and moral courage in the face of Nazi persecution. \n  \nThis production is staged inside a church chapel\, allowing the space itself to become the world of the play. The performance embraces simplicity and reverence\, drawing focus to the actors\, the text\, and the spiritual tension at the heart of the story. Original music and restrained visual design underscore the interior lives of these women as they wrestle with truth in a time of unspeakable danger. At its core\, “A Thing of Beauty” is about faith hard-won and fiercely-held\, the cost of conviction\, and the quiet courage required to remain faithful when the world demands silence. \n  \nContent Advisory: This production includes references to antisemitism\, anti-Jewish rhetoric\, and the realities of Nazi persecution\, which may be distressing for some audience members. \n  \nDoors open half an hour prior to the performance.
