DESCRIPTION:The Big Black Creek Historical Association will host the Cemetery Walk on October 22 from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm. The church and cemetery are located approximately 10 miles\, on Hwy 223\, off Exit 76\, from Interstate 40. Please park at the church where you will be transported by wagon to the cemetery. Presenters will greet you dressed from a historical time period to tell of a time and place of days gone by. Admission is $10 per adult\, children $5\, under 5 free. DESCRIPTION:This tour will board at the Sheriff Buford Pusser Museum at 8:00 am. It was go to all of the places in McNairy County where it all happened – the ambush sites\, cemetery\, jail\, crash site\, state line & MANY others! Lunch will be provided. You will also go to Chester County to see the sites that you may recognize from many movies! Seats are$75. All food\, drinks and snacks are included! SUMMARY:Booming on the Battlefield
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, August 5\, and Sunday\, August 6\, the roar of cannon will return to Shiloh National Military Park. The scheduled firing demonstrations will be presented by the Shiloh cannon crew\, firing a 6-pounder field piece. Please meet for the program across the street from the park visitor center. Park living historians will fire the gun\, introduce the equipment and tools of the 19th century cannoneers\, and tell the story of how these powerful guns impacted the outcome of battle at Shiloh. The park hopes this special experience will help you imagine the smell and sounds of the 1862 battlefield. The cannon firing demonstrations will take place at 10:00 am\, 11:30 am\, 1:30 pm\, and 3:00 pm on Saturday and at 11:00 am\, 1:00 pm\, and 2:30 pm on Sunday. Each program will last approximately 20-minutes\, and interpret the weapons\, projectiles\, and procedures Civil War artillery crews used during the war. The award-winning park film\, ‘Shiloh: Fiery Trial’\, is being shown in the park visitor center auditorium at the top of the hour starting at 8:00 am with the last showing at 4:00 pm. There is never a fee for park programs or to enter Shiloh National Military Park. SUMMARY:Pinson Mounds Independence Day Night Hike
DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate Independence Day Weekend with the Pinson Mounds staff with a Night Hike! Learn about the first Americans and how they lived. You may even see some Fireworks in the distance. Bring water\, bug spray\, and sturdy shoes. This hike will be around 1 mile long and will end with 124 steps at the top of Sauls Mound.
