SUMMARY:Johnston’s Last Day Ranger Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join Shiloh National Military Park for Johnston’s Last Day Ranger Hike. \nRanger Anthony Killion will be leading an approximately three-mile hike across the Shiloh battlefield\, following in the footsteps of Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston. Learn about General Johnston from time he hears the first shots of the battle up to the moment he passes away from a mortal wound on the afternoon of April 6\, 1862. \nThe hike will begin with a brief meeting at the visitor center before starting the trek. Participants should come dressed for the weather; prepared to hike over steep\, slippery terrain through thick woods\, and the possibility of crossing creeks. Insect repellant and ample drinking water are recommended. \nTo register for the hike\, please call the Shiloh Battlefield Visitor Center at 731-689-5696.
