DESCRIPTION:From March through November 2023\, the Jackson Arts Council will organize ‘First Friday Art Walk’ events in Downtown\, Jackson. These monthly events will take place on the first Friday of the month from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in local businesses all within walking distance of one another in Downtown Jackson’s newly designated Arts District.  The public will now have regular monthly opportunities to shop for local art directly from local artists. Artists will popup inside of the storefronts of local businesses to sell their work. The purpose of these events is to increase opportunities for the public to engage with the arts\, increase opportunities for local artists to sell their work\, increase arts opportunities within the Arts District\, and increase walkability and economic activity in Downtown\, Jackson.  Artists and fine crafters of all backgrounds and skill levels who are interested in selling their work at these events must be Artist Members of the Jackson Arts Council. DESCRIPTION:The Ned will be hosting the first annual Hub City Film Festival this August\, Saturday\, August 5th & Sunday\, August 6th\, 2023 (Specific Times TBD)! Hub City Film Festival is being presented by Community Foundation of West TN. The festival will showcase local filmmakers works as well as host seminars with filmmakers about topics such as producing\, directing\, marketing\, independent filmmaking and community connectivity. Film Festival director\, Shelby Tyre said ‘We wanted to create a community for filmmakers in the area to do just that\, as well as to hopefully grow that community into something bigger that will benefit West TN as a whole.’ The film festival is currently accepting all types of films from short films\, short documentaries\, feature films\, feature length documentaries\, music videos and others! DESCRIPTION:From March through November 2023\, the Jackson Arts Council will organize ‘First Friday Art Walk’ events in Downtown\, Jackson. These monthly events will take place on the first Friday of the month from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in local businesses all within walking distance of one another in Downtown Jackson’s newly designated Arts District.  The public will now have regular monthly opportunities to shop for local art directly from local artists. Artists will popup inside of the storefronts of local businesses to sell their work. The purpose of these events is to increase opportunities for the public to engage with the arts\, increase opportunities for local artists to sell their work\, increase arts opportunities within the Arts District\, and increase walkability and economic activity in Downtown\, Jackson.  Artists and fine crafters of all backgrounds and skill levels who are interested in selling their work at these events must be Artist Members of the Jackson Arts Council.
