The Carnegie Center for Arts and History Opening Reception

February 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Carnegie Center for Arts and History is thrilled to announce its grand reopening on February 1, 2025, featuring a new exhibition by artist Bryan Birks. Articles of Virtu explores the relationship between the people of the American Midwest and their cars, capturing both the individuals and the unique culture shaped by the automobile.

In his artist statement, Birks shares: “Old and young, the people I photograph all have thoughts about their lives and their possessions. Conversations often revolve around legacy—whether it’s fixing an old Riviera or touching up chipped paint. As we part ways, they always end with a hopeful ‘Maybe one day.'”

The exhibition will open to the public with a special reception on February 1 at 6:00 PM, where visitors will have the opportunity to meet Bryan Birks and experience his work up close. The Carnegie Center has undergone renovations to enhance the visitor experience, making this reopening a momentous occasion for both art enthusiasts and the broader community.

The Carnegie Center for Arts and History invites all to experience this exciting new chapter with the Articles of Virtu exhibition.
