More than a dozen pieces from the gallery have been hand-selected by artist Lendon Noe for reproduction. Unframed prints will range from $25 – $30. A preview of the high-quality prints that will be available for purchase can be found on the Jackson Madison County Bicentennial Facebook page.
The “In This Moment” art gallery was unveiled on the second floor of City Hall on Monday, October 2, 2023. It embodies the remarkable spirit of the people of Jackson and Madison County throughout two hundred years of history, culture and community. Noe drew inspiration from the Bicentennial Milestones book, to craft 37 canvases and mixed media exhibits that pay homage to the multifaceted history of Jackson and Madison County. Pieces within the gallery reflect dozens of themes that have shaped Jackson’s identity over the past two centuries including healthcare, education, arts, entertainment, religion, medicine and more.
Lendon’s gallery is one of many legacy projects coordinated by the Bicentennial commission to commemorate our past and inspire future generations. Additional Bicentennial legacy projects include the Milestones history book, a commissioned art gallery at Madison County Courthouse by Caleb O’Connor, a time capsule, Bicentennial Park and an archive book. These projects are made possible by our Legacy sponsors – City of Jackson, Madison County, Jackson Energy Authority and West Tennessee Healthcare.
