Brownsville Celebrates Tina Turner

Brownsville, TN will host Tina Turner Heritage Days from September 27-29, marking the 10th anniversary of the Tina Turner Museum at Flagg Grove School. Fans from around the globe will visit to explore Tina’s hometown, tour Nutbush, enjoy live performances, and share memories. Highlights includes a Zoom Q&A with Tina’s pianist Joel Campbell, the premiere of never-before-seen footage from the Break Every Rule World Tour, and a free outdoor concert by Elevation Memphis. Don’t miss the Nutbush tours, “tinaoke”, and visits to her childhood church. 10PM | Nutbush Tour – includes Nutbush, Ripley and the Alex Haley Museum in Henning. Reservations are required.

5:30PM | Fan gathering, special presentations and Tinaoke (Tina karaoke)

 

Saturday, September 28

9AM & 1PM | Nutbush Tour. Tour Tina’s childhood communities (Nutbush, former home sites, church, etc.) Limited Seating. Reservations required. 

2PM | Zoom with Joel Campbell, pianist during three Tina tours, including her 50th Anniversary Tour. Q&A to follow.

5PM | “Break Every Rule” video premier, with never-before-seen footage, produced by Deric Dyer, saxophonist during the BER tour, and introduced by Dr. Ralph Craig, author of “Dancing in my Dream.”

7:30PM | Elevation Memphis: A Tina Turner Tribute Experience Concert. Outdoor event; bring your lawn chairs.

 

Sunday, September 29

8AM |  Woodlawn Missionary Baptist Church service (Tina’s former place of worship). Fans may gather at the WTDHC and carpool.
