Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store Hosts Former Blue Bell Ice Cream Executive and Author for Book Signing Events
Guests are invited to meet Ricky Dickson, the former president and CEO of Blue Bell Creameries, at Miss Anne’s Ice Cream Shoppe for a special book signing of his new release, “One Scoop at a Time: Stories & Lessons From Fear to Faith,” Friday, August 30, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hardcover copies will be available for purchase for $22.99 plus tax at the event.
Miss Anne’s Ice Cream Shoppe proudly serves several of Blue Bell’s most beloved flavors, a brand dear to the heart of Anne Shaw, the late grandmother of Old Country Store President Brooks Shaw. “My grandmother often enjoyed a scoop of Blue Bell paired with a warm slice of homemade chess pie,” said Shaw, a third-generation owner of Old Country Store and Casey Jones Village. “There are many ways to honor her memory, but bringing people together to share stories of faith and resilience over a scoop of ice cream feels particularly fitting. She believed deeply in the power of community and the joy that simple pleasures like ice cream can bring, especially in challenging times. This event beautifully captures those values.”
In addition to Blue Bell ice cream, Miss Anne’s Ice Cream Shoppe offers fudge, milkshakes and waffle cones, as well as an assortment of nostalgic toys, candies and sodas from days gone by.
In his book, Dickson reflects on his 43-year career at Blue Bell and his relationship with God. He shares insights on leadership, keys to success and how ice cream can bring people together. “One Scoop at a Time” was released July 16, 2024, and is available on Amazon and at RickyDickson.com.
