Hub City Theatre Company is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of the critically acclaimed musical Ride the Cyclone. Set to open on August 2nd in the basement of the historic Carnegie Legends of Tennessee Music Museum, this captivating and darkly humorous show is poised to deliver a unique theatrical experience to audiences.

Ride the Cyclone, created by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, is a musical that has garnered praise for its inventive storytelling and eclectic score. The show follows the lives of six teenagers who find themselves on a thrilling, otherworldly adventure after a tragic accident on a carnival ride. As they navigate their journey through the afterlife, the characters confront their pasts, their regrets, and their hopes, all while engaging in a blend of high-energy musical numbers and poignant moments.

“It’s been kind of a dream show for a few years now that I’d love to direct,” said James Matthew Wyatt, the director of the production. “All the characters are so interesting. It’s small, it’s intimate. We’re thankful for this awesome space that we have here.”

The production will feature an ensemble cast of 7 local actors, each bringing their own unique flair to the dynamic characters of the show. With a mix of seasoned performers and fresh faces, Hub City Theatre Company promises a performance that will be both memorable and impactful.

In addition to its compelling storyline and vibrant score, Ride the Cyclone is known for its inventive set design and visually stunning elements. The Hub City Theatre Company’s production will showcase a blend of imaginative set pieces, elaborate costumes, and striking lighting effects, all designed to transport audiences into the fantastical world of the show while working in the confines of such an intimate space.
