Some of the mounds at Pinson were intentionally placed in order to mark to sunrises of at least two of the seasonal markers throughout the year, with the most clearly marked one being the summer solstice. Join Ranger Dedra Friday morning to celebrate the first full day of summer. Whether you come for the historical significance, or to feel the energy of the first sunrise of the summer, we welcome you and would love to have you join us! We will meet in the museum parking lot at 5:00 AM, and proceed to the mound’s summit.

Please note that this event is **WEATHER PERMITTING**. If we have inclement weather (heavy rain, storms), a Facebook post will be issued before the time of the event, or possibly the evening prior. Those who have registered will receive a phone call to let them know that it has been cancelled.
